Greetings!!!

Well, here we are again. Another day has past and it's even more glorious than the previous days because it's sunny and not a hint of a cloud in sight. This would be a great day to work outside, but I'm restricted from working at all because my calf muscle is swollen for some reason and it's painful to walk on. So, here I am, trying to pass the time by doing something constructive, practicing my writing. The good news is that I see Maureen later today to make sure I don't have a clot. Richard is nervous about the leg because it could be bad news if it is a clot. If it were just me, I would just take it easy til it heals, but I don't want Richard to worry, so I'm going to the doctor to ease his mind. This morning the swelling has gone down one cm.

As for yesterday, I went to the dentist to get a cleaning. It was my first time in that particular clinic and I liked my hygenist. She was nice and very gentle. The whole staff was friendly.

This weekend is exciting also. I meet Kerry for the first time. We've spoken on the phone several times and she's very nice and I like her very much. She's staying for the weekend and we're going to take her on a garden tour and Richard's spelling bee. The Bee event is for the literacy fundraiser. It'll be fun and I'll be sure to take loads of pictures.

A WEEK WITH MY BOYS

A whole week with my boys...It was all great from start to finish. ok, maybe a little bump before we picked them and a some in the middle, but all and all it was a great week. One of the best as of late. We were late picking them up because we had to travel such a long way, but once we got them, they were fine. I think David may have been worried that we wouldn't make it or something. We checked into a hotel near the turnpike and then left in the morning and ate at the diner and went to the flea market. The boys and I showed Richard the market because he's never been there before. Richard saw a lot of things he was interested enough to buy. Then we proceeded to drive home. It was a long drive home...and I think David understood why we took so long to get there, plus it was Easter weekend, which made it worse. We all had a good time and for lunch/dinner, we stopped at this Japanese restaurant called Tokyo and it was fun. The boys enjoyed the performance of the chef's and the food was great. Then we stopped at Assateague...not even sure I spelled that correctly. Anyway, we saw different species of birds and wild ponies. We went for a walk and then drove around the island to see the beach. We stopped at the beach for a while, then we drove home taking the long route. Richard showed us his old house, which I found to be beautiful and serene. It was a big house with a beautiful porch and a huge yard. He sold that house a long time ago for probably less than what it was worth. Anyway, we were on our way home again and on the way we stopped at the grocery store. Dave and Richie went in with a list I've given them. Then we drove home after that. The boys, i think, liked the house. They each had their own rooms and they liked them. We played boggle a lot and scrabble and also badminton out in the backyard. The next day it rained, so the boys and I stayed home. Then Tuesday came and we went across the bay and went to Mt Trashmore and the bookstore and for dinner we ate at Azar, a Lebanese restaurant. The food was good. Btw, for lunch, we ate at StingRays and the boys seemed to have liked it there. I don't recall what they ate, oh, yeah, dave had a burger on wheat bread and AJ had a hot dog. And Richard and I had fish sandwiches. Anyway, we all wished we had a kite to fly while we were in the park. Rich, was teaching dave how to skip rocks on the pond/lake while I watched and AJ was playing. We picked up some trash and tossed them into the bin. Then we took the boys to play on the playground. Then once they had enough, or AJ had enough, we drove to Costco and bought some things we needed at the house. The boys had a great day and I think were tired. Anthony loved the bridge and tunnels. Oh, btw, on our way to VA Bch, we stopped at the bridge's midpoint and walked out to the pier. We took loads of pictures, but left too soon because it was windy and cold. So, anyway, after Costco, we went home. I drove home this time. They were all tired. We got home late and Richard and I went to pick up my car at his clinic where we left it. Then we all went to bed after that.

The next day, AJ and I went to the laundry mat and dropped off our clothes and then went to another LM to wash the rest of the clothes because the machines were cheaper. Anyway, I got tired and wasn't feeling too great that night, so I went to bed early while Richie and dave played a game of boggle. AJ was watching a movie and played on the pc. Anyway, Thursday, not much happened, Dave and I assembled the badminton and played. During the middle of the game, our neighbor's dog came and put the birdie in his mouth, which made it harder for us to continue to play. So then dave threw a stick toward the dog's house and the dog ran for it, but then he came right back. well, this is all I can write for now...my foot has fallen asleep. haha..anyway, to be continued....

Social Calendar

WEll, looks like this introvert is being gently pushed out of her shell. Hubby is not pushing or making me attend parties I don't want to attend, and it's totally up to me if want to go, but I want to make him happy and want to leave my comfort zone a bit and so I went on few events with him. This past Friday night, he & his colleagues were trying to recruit a new doctor to this side of the Shore. Hopefully it worked because they need someone here. I had a great time and I met R's boss and his wife and the rest of the gang. They're all great people and all down to earth. R's young coworker was so easygoing and so pleasant to talk to. The dinner was held in a great restaurant. The presentation of each food was amazing and ambience was pleasing. Dinner lasted four hours because everyone lost track of time, that's how good it was. The conversation was flowy and everyone seemed to have enjoyed the night. The next night, we had another dinner invitation to go to and that was even better than the night before. I met two other fils and they were both great, very friendly. R's boss's wife was there with her son. He was nice like his parents and we had Japan as a common ground. R's other friend was there. R's locally renowned artist friend and her son hosted the dinner. They're both also down to earth, very easygoing people. We were given a tour of the place and we also went out to the docks and stayed by the water for a few mins. Walked around the grounds and inspected various plants. It was a great place. Then we had dinner and it was spicy hot, but really good. It was a no-meat meal and Indian style cuisine. Our dessert was coconut meat with juice and that was also good. The conversation was casual and anything went. I had a lot to say and shared a lot that night, a first for me because I'm usually not saying much in previous dinner invitations. I had a great time. Then yesterday, a Sunday, R and I went across the bay and ate at a local fil restaurant and ate authentic fil cuisine. Then we went to Mt. Trashmore and walked up the hill and sat down and read the paper. I was teaching R some fil phrases. We then walked around the track surrounding a mini lake and stopped half-way and read the paper some more. Then we went to Barnes and Noble and bought some books but we got hungry so we then walked across the road to Ruby Tuesday and ate there. Talked a bit after eating, then walked back to B&NB. Bought three more books and then made our way home. By then it was already past my bedtime of nine pm. Got home, immediately brushed my teeth and readied for bed and read a bit. I looked up every word I didn't know the exact meaning to and that was also fun. By the end of this huge book, my vocabulary would dramatically increase....lol I'm easily pleased so something that someone might find boring is extremely enjoyable to me. So this weekend was the greatest I've had in a really long time, if ever. Then sometime today I'm going to R's office and join in another fun event, don't know what though....then wed is also another night out and on Friday night...i'm looking forward to that...maybe I'm not such an introvert after all.....haha
